After this task is completed
Reinstall the drive cage and reconnect the required drive cables (see
“Install a drive cage” on page 86 and
“Cable routing for the hot-swap drives” on page 165).
Proceed to complete the parts replacement (see
“Complete the parts replacement” on page 161).

Processor heat sink replacement (trained technician only)
Follow instructions in this section to remove or install a processor heat sink. This procedure must be
executed by a trained technician.
CAUTION:
The heat sinks and processors might be very hot. Turn off the server and wait several minutes to let
the server cool before removing the server cover.
Attention: Before reusing a heat sink, make sure you use Lenovo proven alcohol cleaning pad and thermal
grease.
