Configuration guide
Follow instructions in this section to remove or install the enclosure, node sleeve, and node from and to the
related mounting options.
Notes: ThinkEdge SE350 V2 is designed to be used with various mounting options.
• Desktop mount: the node is oriented horizontally with rubber feet mounted to its underside.
• Rack mount: up to two nodes (with no top cover) can be mounted in an enclosure, and the enclosure is
installed in the rack.

Rack mount configuration
Follow instructions in this section to remove or install the node from or to an enclosure, as well as the
enclosure from or to a rack.
Notes:
• To remove the node from the rack:
– Remove the node directly from the enclosure on the rack; or
– First remove the enclosure from the rack; then, remove the node from the enclosure.
• To install the node to the rack:
– Install the node directly into an enclosure already on the rack; or
– First install the node to an enclosure; then, install the enclosure to the rack.
• For details of the rail options for the rack installation, see
“ Rail Installation Guides” on page 215.
• If the node is to be installed in an enclosure, change the machine type for proper operation.
If the node is removed from and not to be reinstalled into an enclosure, change the machine type to the
default mode for proper operation.
