Procedure
Step 1. Make preparations for this task.
a. Remove the shipping bracket from the enclosure (see
“Remove a node from a rack” on page
45
).
Step 2. Remove the dust filter from the shipping bracket.

After this task is completed
Install a replacement unit (see
“Install a dust filter” on page 60).
If you are instructed to return the component, follow all of the packaging instructions and use any
packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
 
Install a dust filter
Follow instructions in this section to install a dust filter into the shipping bracket of an enclosure or the
security bezel of a node sleeve.
About this task
Attention:
Read
“Installation Guidelines” on page 37 and “Safety inspection checklist” on page 38 to make sure that
you work safely.
Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the
node; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.
Important:
Depending on the environment, check the status of the dust filter at least every 3 months to make sure it is
functional.
It is recommended to have a dust filter installed when the server is in operation.
