Step 3. Slightly pivot the I/O module board at an angle to disengage it; then, pull the I/O module board
toward the front of the node to remove it.
Attention: When disengaging and removing the I/O module board, make sure to:
• pivot the I/O module board at a small angle to avoid interfering with the studs on the chassis
sidewalls; and
• keep the I/O module board under these studs.

After this task is completed
• Install a replacement unit (see
“Install an I/O module board” on page 150).
• If you are instructed to return the component, follow all of the packaging instructions and use any
packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
• If any M.2 boot drives are installed on the I/O module board, remove them before returning or recycling
the I/O module board (see
“Remove an M.2 boot drive” on page 104).
