Step 2. Install a CMOS battery into the socket.
Note: Make sure that the positive (+) side of the CMOS battery faces upward.

Pivot the CMOS battery to insert it into the socket. Make sure that the battery goes tight to
the metal clip.

Gently press the battery straight down until it clicks in place.
Attention:
• Avoid excessive force on the CMOS battery, as it might damage the socket on the system
board and result in system board replacement.

• If necessary, reinstall the drive cage or power module board into the node and reconnect the cables (see
“Install a drive cage” on page 86 or “Install a power module board” on page 123).
