Step 1. Make preparations for this task.
a. Locate the drive bay to install a drive.
b. If a drive bay filler is installed in this drive bay, remove it first. Keep the drive bay filler in a safe
place for future use.
c. Make sure that the tray handle is in the open (unlocked) position.
Step 2. Install a drive into a drive bay.
a.
Align the drive with the guide rails in the bay; then, gently push the drive into the bay until the
drive stops.
b.
Pivot the tray handle to the closed (lock) position with a click.

Step 3. If there are plans of installing additional drives, proceed to install all of them.
 
After this task is completed
If SED encryption is enabled on the system, reboot the system.
Note: When SED encryption is enabled, rebooting the system is required after installing a drive; without
rebooting, the drive will not be recognized by the host OS.
Check the drive status LED to verify that the drive is operating correctly.
If the yellow drive status LED of a drive is lit continuously, that drive is faulty and must be replaced.
If the green drive activity LED is flashing, the drive is being accessed.

“Drive LEDs” on page 187.
If necessary, install the enclosure bracket to the enclosure (see “Configuration guide” on page 45).
