Connectinganexternalmonitor
Toattachanexternalmonitor,doasfollows:
ForWindows7:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector;thenconnectthemonitortoanelectricaloutlet
2.Turnontheexternalmonitor.
3.Changethedisplayoutputlocationbypressing“F6”onpage25.Thisallowsyoutoswitchbetween
viewingoutputontheexternaldisplay,thecomputerdisplay,andbothdisplays.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,right-clickonthedesktop,thenselectScreen
resolution.ClicktheDetectbutton.
ForWindowsXP:
1.Turnoffthecomputer.
2.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector;thenconnectthemonitortoanelectricaloutlet.
3.Turnontheexternalmonitorandthecomputer.
4.Changethedisplayoutputlocationbypressing“F6”onpage25.Thisallowsyoutoswitchbetween
viewingoutputontheexternaldisplay,thecomputerdisplay,andbothdisplays.
Notes:
•Donotchangethedisplayoutputlocationwhileamovingpictureisbeingdrawn—forexample,while
playingamovieoragame,orviewingabusinesspresentation.Closetheapplicationbeforechangingthe
displayoutputlocation,orchangethedisplaymodebeforeyouopenanMPEGletoplay.
•IfyouareattachinganexternalmonitorthatsupportsonlyVGAmode(640x480resolution),donotview
outputonboththecomputerdisplayandtheexternalmonitor.Doingsowouldcausetheexternalmonitor
screentobescrambledandtheoutputnottobedisplayed;inaddition,itcouldcausedamagetothe
screen.Usetheexternalmonitoronly.
•IftheexternalTFTmonitoryouconnecthasananaloginterface,ickersorripplesmayappearonsome
displays,suchastheshutdownscreenofWindows.ThisiscausedbytheexternalTFTmonitor,and
cannotbexedbyadjustingtheexternalTFTmonitororthecomputersidesettings.
Settingthemonitortypes
Tosetyourmonitortype,doasfollows:
ForWindows7:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector,andthenconnectthemonitortoanelectrical
outlet.
2.Turnontheexternalmonitor.
3.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,clicktheDetectbutton.
4.SetResolution.
5.ClickAdvancedSettings.
6.ClicktheMonitortab.Checkthemonitorinformationwindowtomakesurethatthemonitortypeis
correct.Ifitis,clickOKtoclosethewindow;otherwisedoasfollows.
