3. Reinstall the node into the chassis (see “Install a node to the chassis” on page 75).
4. Reinstall all drives and drive fillers (if any) to the node (see
“Install a hot-swap drive” on page 97).
5. Make sure that the required power supply units are installed and power cords are connected; then,
power on the node (see
“Install a hot-swap power supply” on page 61 and “Power on the node” on page
51
.)
6. Proceed to complete the parts replacement (see
“Complete the parts replacement” on page 171).
Install a drive cage assembly
Follow instructions in this section to install a drive cage assembly.
About this task
To avoid potential danger, make sure to read and follow the safety information.
Attention:
Read
“Installation Guidelines” on page 41 and “Safety inspection checklist” on page 42 to make sure that
you work safely.
Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the
node and chassis; then, take the component out of the package and place it on a static-protective
surface.
Procedure
Step 1. If the drive backplane has not been installed yet, install it to the drive cage; then, reconnect all the
required cables to the drive backplane (see
“E3.S drive backplane cable routing” on page 176 and
“Install a drive backplane” on page 87).
Step 2. Install the drive cage assembly to the node.
a.
Lower the cage into the node until all the screw holes are aligned.
b.
Tighten the seven screws to secure the cage.
