2.12.12 Field weakening
The field weakening range does not have to be adapted if the motor type has been selected under
C0086. All necessary parameters are set automatically.
The motor is driven in field weakening operation if
• the output voltage of the controller exceeds the rated motor voltage set under C0090.
• the controller cannot increase the output voltage with increasing speed because the mains
voltageandtheDC-busvoltage.
Manual field weakening
A manual field weakening is possible via
MCTRL_nFldWeak_a
• for max. excitation
MCTRL_nFldWeak_a
must have +100% (= 16384) applied.
• if
MCTRL_nFldWeak_a
is not assigned, the field weakening is automatically +100 % .
Stop!
The available torque is reduced by the field weakening.
2.12.13 Chopper frequency changeover
The following chopper frequencies can be set under C0018:
• 8 kHz for power-optimised operation ð max. power output of the controller but with audible
pulse operation.
• 16 kHz for noise-optimised operation ð inaudible pulse operation of the controller, however
with reduced power output (torque).
• Automatic changeover between power-optimised and noise-optimised operation.

The automatic chopper frequency changeover can be used for noise-optimised operation and if the
available torque is not high enough for acceleration processes.
