l Disconnect the starttec before you start working on the device or opening it because the
powerconnectionsL1,L2,L3,1U,1V,1W,2U,2V,2W,B1,B2andBNcarrydangerous
voltage:
– After you ha ve opened the startec check whether the power connections L1, L2, L3, 1U,
1V, 1W, 2U, 2V, 2W, B1, B2 and BN are dead.
– Even if the starttec is inhibited (terminal 28 = LOW), the connections 1V, 2V, B1 and B2
carry dangerous voltage!
l Shut down:
– External influences - e. g. ov ervoltage through lightning strike - may damage the starttec
with the consequence tha t the motor continues to run on two phases although the
starttec is inhibited (terminal 28 = LOW).
– If necessary, additional protective measures must be taken (e. g. extra separation of the
mains), dependent on the risk analysis of the machine/plant.
l The metal housing of the starttec reaches an operating temperature of > 60 °C:
– Direct skin contact with the metal housing can lead to burns.
Device
protection
l Certain starttec settings can overheat the connected motor:
– No PTC thermistor or thermostat (NC contact) connected to the motor and temperature
monitoring not configured (C0119).
– Rated motor c urrent not adapted to motor (C0120).
–I
2
t monitoring not active, no activation class set (C0121).
