Overview

The MySignals SW (Software) is an eHealth and Medical IoT Development Platform (Hardware revision 0) designed for developing eHealth web applications and creating new medical devices. It offers a broad sensing portfolio, allowing the measurement of over 20 biometric parameters, making it a comprehensive eHealth platform.

Function Description

The MySignals SW platform enables the measurement of various biometric parameters, including:

  • Pulse and oxygen in blood (SPO2)
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals
  • Airflow
  • Blood pressure
  • Glucose levels
  • Temperature
  • Muscle electromyography (EMG) signals
  • Lung capacity (Spirometer)
  • Galvanic skin response (GSR)
  • Patient position
  • Snore waves
  • Body scale parameters (weight, bone mass, body fat, muscle mass, body water, visceral fat, Basal Metabolic Rate, and Body Mass Index)

The device can operate in three main modes for data visualization and access:

  1. Standalone Mode: Data is displayed directly on the device's integrated graphic TFT screen without external devices.
  2. Bluetooth Connection Mode: Data is sent to a smartphone (Android or iOS) via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 4.0. The MySignals Mobile App visualizes the data and can upload it to the Libelium Cloud if enabled.
  3. Server Connection Mode (WiFi Mode): MySignals uses its WiFi connectivity to send data directly to the Libelium Cloud for permanent storage and real-time visualization through a web browser or the mobile app.

The platform supports recording continuous waves for ECG, EMG, Snore, and Airflow in Server Mode, allowing up to 30 seconds of data measurement in detail mode. Data gathered by MySignals is encrypted (AES 128 for BLE, WPA2 and AES 256 for WiFi) and sent to the user's private account at the Libelium Cloud. Developers can also use a third-party Cloud server to store information via the provided Cloud API.

Usage Features

  • Firmware Updates: Regular firmware updates are available via the Libelium Smart Devices App. It is crucial to update the firmware and mobile app regularly for optimal performance and new features.
  • Sensor Connection: For devices with an ID of 109 or higher (released February 2017), sensors can be connected or disconnected while MySignals is ON. For older models, it's important to connect all desired sensors before turning the device ON to avoid instability or damage.
  • Touchscreen Navigation: MySignals includes a stick for navigating its touchscreen menu options.
  • Cloud Synchronization: Users can activate/deactivate synchronization of data to their Cloud Account by pressing the Cloud icon on the top right corner of the device screen or mobile app.
  • Data Visualization:
    • General View: Displays main information from all selected sensors at once. Green indicates real-time values, orange indicates old values from a previous connection, and grey means the sensor is not connected.
    • Detail View: Provides a graphical representation and detailed information for a specific sensor.
    • Raw Data Viewer: For ECG, EMG, Airflow, and Snore sensors, raw wave signals can be viewed, allowing recording of up to 30 seconds of continuous data in Server Mode.
  • Mobile App (Android/iOS): Allows direct communication with BLE sensors, visualization of data, and navigation through user history on the Libelium Cloud. It also facilitates configuration of WiFi network and user account information for Server Connection Mode.
  • Cloud API: Developers can access stored data, manage user profiles, and integrate MySignals data into third-party platforms.
  • User Management: The MySignals Cloud Application allows creating, deleting, and modifying user profiles and departments, and linking devices to specific users.
  • License Management: Licenses are unique and tied to one user/account. They have an expiration time that starts upon activation.
  • Alarm Button (BLE): A panic alarm button sensor that triggers a sound, buzz, and sends alert messages (email/SMS) to a predefined destination.

Maintenance Features

  • Handling: Handle MySignals carefully to prevent falls or sudden movements that could damage it.
  • Temperature Exposure: Avoid exposing the device to temperatures below -10ºC or above 50ºC to prevent damage to electronic components.
  • Sensor Connection: Connect sensors carefully to avoid damaging connectors. Do not force them.
  • Physical Integrity: Do not apply paint to the device, as it may harm connections and closing mechanisms. Do not remove the permanent plastic frame protecting the screen.
  • Water Exposure: Never submerge the device in liquids.
  • Storage: Keep the device in a dry place, away from liquids.
  • Warranty: Opening the MySignals device or handling its black sticker seals (warranty stickers) will void the warranty.
  • Factory Reset: The device offers a "RESET FACTORY VALUES" function to restore it to its basic configuration.
  • Bluetooth Bonding Deletion: Firmware version 1.0.5 and higher allows deleting all Bluetooth connection information using the "DELETE BONDINGS" function.
  • Spirometer Data Deletion: The spirometer has a maximum of 7 stored measures. Users should delete old measures using the "spirometer_delete_measures" code.
  • Battery Management: For glucometer and spirometer, ensure batteries have more than 50% charge for accurate biometric information. Set date and time correctly after inserting new batteries.
