Error Possible Causes Solutions
• Mouse not detected by
system.
• Mouse cable is not
firmly connected to the
system.
• Firmly connect the mouse cable to the
system.
• Mouse is not con-
nected to the system.
• System needs to be
reset.
• Re-connect the power cord to restart
the system.
• My system does not
seem to be recording.
• Recording may be
disabled.
• Right-click in live view, and click Record.
Ensure that each channel is set to
Schedule or Manual. If schedule is se-
lected, make sure schedule settings are
correct under Schedule.
ATTENTION: For security, it is highly
recommended to keep Continuous Re-
cording ON at all times.
• The system beeps at
startup.
• The beep at startup is
normal.
• I am not receiving email
notifications.
• Email notification is
disabled.
• Ensure you have configured email noti-
fication. See 13.3.5 Configuring Email
Alerts, page 56 for details.
• Default setting is dis-
abled, but you have not
entered your own
SMTP information.
• If you want to use your own SMTP serv-
er, deselect the Default box, and enter
your SMTP Server address, Port, User
name, and Password in the respective
fields.
• Send Email setting not
enabled in Motion
menu.
• Make sure that Send Email is checked
for cameras you wish to receive email
notifications from. See 13.3.8 Configur-
ing Motion Detection, page 59 for
details.
