If the range selection is set to "Auto Range", the range with the best resolution is automati-
cally selected. However the logger or interface operation requires a fixed pre-selection of the
measurement range from the above table (no logger/interface operation with Auto Range!)
6.5 Total Dissolved Solids/ TDS measurement
The total dissolved solids (evaporation residue) are determined with the TDS measurement (Total
Dissolved Solids) based on the conductivity and a conversion factor (C.tdS). The measurement
is therefore well-suited for performing simple concentration measurements of salt solutions,
etc. Values are displayed in mg/l.

0.50 Natural water/surface water, drinking water
0.65 - 0.70 e.g. salt concentration of aqueous fertiliser solutions
Attention: These are only reference values and thus well-suited for estimates (not precise
measurements). For precise measurements the conversion factor for the respective type of
solution and the concentration range must be determined.
This can be accomplished with calibration to known comparison solutions or through actual
evaporation of a specific quantity of liquid with measured conductivity and subsequent
weighing of the dry residue.
