3.3 Swing Arm Stand Adjustment
Grip onto the colposcope and move the swing arm up, down, left and right. The swing arm should respond
easily to the user’s guidance. At the desired height or position, let go of the colposcope. The swing arm
should stay where it is placed.
Diagram 3.3-1
Sometimes, the user may wish to change the default tension set for the swing arm. The swing arm is
adjusted to swing and move easily but with enough tension on it so as not to swing wildly. To adjust the
tension of the swing arm, use a M3/M6 hexagonal wrench on the following sections of the swing arm.

This area can be adjusted by the M6
hexagonal wrench to increase or
decrease the resistance to the up and
down motion of the swing arm.
