The MSTP Instance is implemented with the Region Confi g, Instance Confi g and
Instance Port Confi g pages.
7.3.1 Region Confi g
On this page you can confi gure the name and revision of the MST region
Choose the menu Spanning Tree>>MSTP Instance>>Region Confi g to load the
following page:

The following entries are displayed on this screen:
Region Confi g
Region Name:
Create a name for the MST Region using up to 32 characters.
Revision:
Enter the Revision from 0-65535 for MST Region identifi cation.
CAUTION: MSTP Instance settings will be restored to defaults if the
Switch is restarted and you have not selected Save Confi g
from the main menu and saved your running confi guration to
non-volatile memory.
7.3.2 Instance Confi g
The Instance property of MST region is used to describe the VLAN-to-Instance mapping
confi guration. You can assign VLANs to different instances according to your needs.
Every Instance is a VLAN group independent of other Instances and CIST.
