Checking coolant level
The equalising reservoir for the engine coolant is located
behind the driver's cab above the transmission cover (see
Figure 25).
WARNING!
Danger of injury!
The cooling system is pressurised.
Hot coolant can squirt out when the cooling system is
opened and scald skin and eyes.
X Open the cooling system only when the coolant's
temperature is below 90 °C.
X Unscrew the cap at the equalising reservoir slowly
and allow the pressure to escape completely before
opening.
X Wear suitable protective gloves, clothing, and
goggles when handling coolant.

Check the coolant level.
The coolant level should always lie between the “MIN” and
“MAX” markings.
X Refill with coolant if necessary.
Use with a mixture of water and anti-freeze/corrosion
protection agent.
If there is frequent coolant loss, have authorised
technicians look for and remove the cause.
