2. Open the Access Door (2) from the front left side of unit. Inspect the printhead and the printhead plate.
Use a lint free rag and clean water to clean the printhead plate.
IMPORTANT: Wiping directly on the printhead can cause damage from lint and from dirty or
contaminated ink being wiped into the nozzle ports.
Use a work light to illuminate inside the covers to get a better view of the printhead (1). With a clean lint
free cloth, carefully wipe the bottom of the printhead carriage plate to remove any excess ink build up.
Use caution to avoid the actual printhead. NEVER wipe the bottom of the printhead (1).
IMPORTANT: Wiping directly on the printhead (1) can cause damage from lint and from dirty or
contaminated ink being wiped into the nozzle ports.
Purging and flushing the heads using the software controls is the correct way to clean the printheads.
This method pushes any debris out from the nozzle ports.
