Manitowoc Engineering Co.
transmission case lubrication sys-
tem has lost flow. This alarm is
also tied into the converter cool-
ing system. (See Folio 941 for
further information).
/
NOTE
When starting tbe engine, the alarm may
sound for a few seconds until proper en-
gine oil pressure has been reached. It
may also sound for a few seconds when
stopping the machine.
CAUTION
DO NOTDISCONNECT WIRESFROM FLOWMETER
ALARM. THEALARM IS NEEDE D TO INDICATE
POSSIBLE TROUBLE WITH THE CONVERTERS OR
TRANSMISSION CASE BEFORE TROUBLE OCCUPY.
MAINTENANCE CHECKS
TWICE DAILY
i. Rotate handle of filter in lubri-
cating system a minimum of one
turn (Figure Two).
2. Check transmission pressure gauge
on remote instrument panel. Oper-
ating pressure should be approx.
5 to I0 psi when the engine is
at low idle and the system is at
operating temperatures.
DALLY
i. At start-up check lubricating oii
level in transmission case (sight
gauge -Figure Three) or chain case
(dipstick - Figure Four). Oil
level in sight gauge should be 1/2
to 3/4 of glass. Oil level on dip-
stick should be between high and
low marks.
NOTE
On some machines the transmission case is
connected to the chain case by a dralnline.
Therefore, only a chain ease oil level
check is necessary.
200 HOURS
i. Check transmission case circulating
pump belt tension. Deflection should
be 1/2" to 3/4" (Figure Five).
CAUTION
BEFORE CHECKING BELT TENSION DISCONNECT
BATTERY TO PREVENT START-UP.
