Naming Attributes
When attributes are created, you need to be careful about how they are named because small differences will result
in a “near duplicate” attribute being created, which will reduce the efficiency of using attributes with the Search and
Browse tools.
In the example Installation Selection screen shown below, examples of two attributes—building and location—each
have duplicate entries simply because one user preferred capitalizing the attributes while another preferred using lower
case. Extra spaces at the end of an attribute name can also create a duplicate entry that looks identical to the original.
In most cases, using the arrow to the left of the attribute field in the respective editor screens to open a list of existing
attributes will help reduce duplication issues.
