Maintenance and Care
8.5 Engine and air-conditioning
This Operating Manual contains no detailed information on servicing, star-
ting or maintaining the diesel motor. It provides only auxiliary, important and
machine-related data. Please refer to the engine manufacturer’s Operating
Manual for detailed information.
8.5.1 Inspection cooling water
The coolant level must be checked every day prior to beginning work.
This is easily done by opening the right casing. The level in the cooling unit
must completely ll the gauge. Additionally, the level in the expansion cylin-
der is continually monitored and displayed on the display. If the display lights
up during operation, the coolant is low and must be replenished immediate-
ly.
Warning !
Hot cooling water and escaping vapour
• Can result in death or severe injuries.
• The cooling circuit is pressurised when the engine is warm.
Only open the cover of the expansion tank after the machine
has cooled down.
Rellcoolant
1. Allow the machine to cool down and then tilt the cab.
2. Open the coolant cover by rotating it counterclockwise.
3. Half-ll the expansion tank with coolant. The coolant (-37°C) is com-
prised of water and antifreeze.
4. Close the expansion tank with the coolant cover by rotating it clockwise.
5. Lower the cab.
Cooling water quality
The cooling water quality you used has a signicant inuence on the efcien-
cy and life span of the cooling system. Basically, a mix of maximum 40- 60%
anti-freeze should be used.
