Why are my METER GROUP Measuring Instruments readings slow or inconsistent?
    • S
      Sara JohnsonAug 18, 2025
Slow or inconsistent readings on your METER GROUP Measuring Instruments could be due to several factors. The sample chamber might be dirty and require cleaning. Also, a significant temperature difference between the sample and the block chamber can cause this issue; allow the sample to reach the instrument's temperature. Some products naturally absorb or desorb moisture slowly, extending measurement times. If the sample contains volatiles, this can also affect readings. Lastly, a broken or bent fan blade in the block chamber may be the cause. If salt standards take a long time to read and the sample chamber is clean, contact Customer Support for details on replacement.

What to do if verification is not correct on METER GROUP Measuring Instruments?
    • C
      Christopher MercadoAug 20, 2025
If the verification on your METER GROUP Measuring Instruments is incorrect, start by cleaning the sample chamber and mirror. If the verification is still not correct, verify and adjust for linear offset.

What to do if AQUALAB Measuring Instruments displays 'Remove sample. Sample is too hot!' error message?
    • D
      Deanna DavisAug 23, 2025
The 'Remove sample. Sample is too hot!' error message indicates that the sample temperature is too high for the instrument to equilibrate quickly. Make sure your samples are at the same temperature as the instrument.

How to fix high or low water activity readings on METER GROUP Measuring Instruments verification standards?
    • J
      Jennifer BrownAug 26, 2025
If water activity readings on your METER GROUP Measuring Instruments verification standards are too high or too low, and a linear offset adjustment doesn't solve the problem, the thermopile or the chamber mirror may be contaminated and require cleaning.

What to do if moisture content displayed is not correct on METER GROUP AQUALAB DUO?
    • J
      Jessica LarsonAug 27, 2025
If the moisture content displayed on your METER GROUP AQUALAB DUO is incorrect, the selected model may not be appropriate for the product you're testing. Try toggling through the available models to find a better match. If the model is correct but still inaccurate, you might need to offset the model. If the model is correct and an offset does not work, it may be necessary to generate a new model for the product or update an existing model. For information about updating or generating a model, contact Customer Support.

What to do if sensors are reading outside of the typical range on METER GROUP AquaLab 4TE?
    • Q
      qrichmondAug 30, 2025
If the sensors on your METER GROUP Measuring Instruments are reading outside the typical range, and cleaning and troubleshooting don't resolve the issue, go to the Diagnostics screen. The lid, base, and sample temperatures should be between 24.5 and 25.5 °C. If the mirror temperature matches the lid temperature, the cooler has likely failed and needs replacement. If the mirror temperature is below the lid temperature or seems random, the thermocouple wire is probably broken and needs repair. For optical range, a typical optical range is between 300 and 2,900 mV. If the sensor is reading outside of this range, contact Customer Support.

What to do if moisture content does not show up on the Measurement tab of METER GROUP AQUALAB DUO?
    • A
      Amy LarsonSep 1, 2025
If the moisture content isn't showing on the Measurement tab of your METER GROUP AQUALAB DUO, it might not be activated. Go to the Configuration tab, select %Moisture, and choose the appropriate model. If no models are listed in the %Moisture screen, reload them using AquaLink 4. If %Moisture isn't an active selection, the DUO feature may not be enabled. Contact Customer Support to learn how to upgrade to a DUO.

How to fix 'Displayed a is below w instrument detection limits' on METER GROUP AquaLab 4TE?
    • K
      Kelly ClarkSep 3, 2025
The message 'Displayed a is below w instrument detection limits' on your METER GROUP Measuring Instruments means the sample is too dry for an accurate reading. This occurs when there isn't enough moisture to condense on the mirror. Try cleaning the mirror and chamber, then measure the sample again.

What causes METER GROUP AQUALAB not to turn on and how to fix it?
    • K
      karenhernandezSep 5, 2025
If your METER GROUP AQUALAB doesn't turn on, a power surge may have blown a fuse. First, check that the power cord is securely connected to both the instrument and the power outlet. To replace the fuse: 1. Unplug the power cord. 2. Locate the fuse box on the right side of the panel where the power cord plugs in; press the release tab and pull out the fuse-holder. 3. Replace the broken fuse with a 1.25-A, 250-V fuse. Important: Use only this type of fuse to avoid damage or voiding the warranty. 4. Replace the fuse holder and push it back in until the release tab clicks. 5. Reconnect the power cord and try turning on the instrument. If the fuse blows again, a component may have failed, and you should contact Customer Support for repairs.

What does 'Ran test with wrong model' mean for METER GROUP AquaLab 4TE Measuring Instruments?
    • F
      fleonardSep 8, 2025
If your METER GROUP Measuring Instruments displays 'Ran test with wrong model', on the measurement screen, toggle to the correct model using the UP and DOWN button. The moisture content value updates to correspond with the model selected. Use SAVE to save the updated moisture value. If the correct model is not available, the model may not be loaded on the instrument. To determine which models are loaded on the instrument, cycle to the Configuration tab, select Moisture and the loaded models will be listed. If the correct model is not available, load the appropriate model using AquaLink 4 software. The AQUALAB DUO can hold a total of 100 models at any one time.
