Theseatbeltpre-tensionerswillonly
beactivatedonceandthenMUST
BEREPLACED.Failuretoreplacethe
pre-tensionerswillreducetheefciencyof
thevehicle'srestraintsystem.
Ifthepre-tensionershavebeenactivated,
theseatbeltswillstillfunctionasrestraints,
andmustbewornintheeventthatthe
vehicleremainsinadrivablecondition.
Theseatbeltpre-tensionersshouldbe
replacedattheearliestopportunitybyan
MGAuthorisedRepairer.
Thevehicleisttedwithseatbeltpre-tensionersbeside
someseatbeltretractors.Whenmediumorseverefrontal
collisionoccursandmeetstheconditiontoactivatethe
pre-tensioner,itwillhelptosecuretheseatbelttoreduce
passengersmovingforward.
Theairbagwarninglampontheinstrumentpackwill
alertthedrivertoanymalfunctionoftheseatbelt
pre-tensioners(see'WarningLampsandIndicators'inthe
'InstrumentsandControls'chapter).
Theseatbeltpre-tensionerscanonlybeactivatedonce.
Afteractivationinacollision,theymustbereplaced.This
mayalsoinvolvereplacementofotherSRScomponents.
Pleasereferto'ReplacementofSRSComponents'in
'Airbags'ofthissection.
IMPORTANT
•Seatbeltpre-tensionerswillnotbeactivatedby
minorimpacts.
•Theremovalorreplacementofapre-tensionermust
becarriedoutbythemanufacturertraineddealer
technicians.Forbetterguaranteeofyoursafety,
werecommendyoutoconsultanMGAuthorised
Repairer.
•After10yearsfromtheuseofvehicle(or
replacementofseatbeltpre-tensioner),itis
recommendedtoreplacerelatedcomponentsto
guaranteeyoursafety.Ifyouhaveanydoubtabout
thedevicewithinthisperiod,werecommendyou
consultanMGAuthorisedRepairer.
