Wearingseatbeltsincorrectlymaycause
seriousinjuryorevendeathintheeventof
acollision.
Airbagscannotreplaceseatbelts.Airbags
canonlyprovideextrasupportwhen
triggered,andnotalltrafcaccident
swilltriggerairbags.Whetherairbagsare
triggeredornot,seatbeltscanreduce
therisksofseriousinjuryordeathin
accidents.Therefore,seatbeltsmustbe
wornproperly.
NEVERunfastenaseatbeltwhilstdriving,
seriousinjuryordeathmayoccurinthe
eventofanaccidentoremergencybraking.
Neverfastenthedriverseatbeltorusea
bucklereplacementwhenthedriverseatis
vacantorwhenexitingthevehicle.
Thisvehicleisequippedwithseatbeltwarning
lamptoremindyoutofastenyourseatbelt.Pleaserefer
to'WarningLampsandIndicators'inthe'Instrumentand
Controls'sectionformoreinformation.
Whenthevehicleisinmotion,seatbeltsmustbefastened
foralloccupants.thisisbecause:
•Y oucanneverpredictifyouwillbeinvolvedinacollision
accidentandhowseriousitmaybe.
•Intheeventofacollisionoremergencybraking,theseat
beltswillautomaticallylock.Whentheseatbeltisworn
correctly,thestrongestboneinyourbodywillbearthe
impactforcetoreduceyourspeedtogetherwiththe
vehicle,soastopreventtheout-of-controlmovement
whichmaycauseseriousinjurytodriverandpassengers.
•Theforcegeneratedbyalow-speedcollisioncannotbe
supportedbyarmsandhandseveninaminortrafc
accident.
