offwhenbeingtowed.Ifforwardcollision
systemisenabledwhenthevehicleisbeing
towed,adverseeffectsmayaffectthesafety
ofyourvehicle,thetowingvehicleandthe
peoplearound.
Toavoidtheoccurrenceofaccidents,never
testthefunctionsoftheforwardcollision
system.
Theforwardcollisionassistsystemswitchislocatedonthe
entertainmentdisplay.Thesystemcanbeturnedon/offin
theappropriateDriverAssistanceinterface.Thethemode
andsensitivitycanbeselectedwithinthismenu.
Alarm
Whenthesystemdetectsariskofcollisionwiththevehicle
aheadinthislaneorwithpedestrians,itwillgivewarnings
topromptthedrivertoslowdownandkeeparelatively
safedistancefromthevehicleaheadorpedestriansanda
relativelysafespeed.
EmergencyBraking
Whenthesystemdetectsariskofcollisionbetween
thisvehicleandthevehicleaheadinthislaneormoving
pedestrians,thebrakesystemwilllowerthespeed
automaticallysoastoavoidcollisionormitigatethe
damageofthecollision.Ifthevehiclehasusedthebrakes
tocometoacompletestop,thesystemwillkeepthe
vehiclestationaryforashortamountoftimebeforegiving
completecontrolbacktothedriver .
Thesystemwillautomaticallyslowdownthe
vehicleonlywhenthefollowingconditionsare
met:
•Thedynamicstabilitycontrolsystem(SCS)andtraction
controlsystem(TCS)areONandfailure-free;
•ThevehicleisinDriveorNeutral;
•Theairbagshavenotbeendeployed.
