Calibration Calibration Procedures
5.5.3 Flow Sensor Calibration
1. Preparing the unit
a. Remove the Inspiratory and Expiratory valve disks, and reinstall the valve covers.
b. Connect a Respiration Tube between the Inspiratory and Expiratory Ports. (see
FIGURE 5-2)
c. Use the AS3000 Test Plug to block the Bag Port. (see FIGURE 5-3)
d. Set the APL Valve to 70 cmH
2
O.
e. With the Fresh Gas flow set to 100 mL/min, press the O
2
Flush button. Verify that the
Paw gauge reads a minimum of 40 cmH
2
O after releasing the button.
f. If 40 cmH
2
O cannot be attained, open and close the APL Valve and repeat step e
prior to leakage troubleshooting.
g. Set the Fresh Gas flow to 0 mL/min.
h. Select Continue.
