6 Troubleshooting
6.1 When this Type of Copy is Produced
Symptom Possible Cause Action
The image is too
light.
The exposure level for the Auto
Exposure Mode is set at one of
the “Light” levels.
Change the setting in the User’s
Choice ModeU-13(Default Auto
Exposure Level), see page 4-7.
Cancel the Auto Exposure Mode
and select the Manual Exposure
Mode to adjust the exposure
level and obtain a darker image,
see page 3-10.
Themanual exposure levelis set
on the lighter side.
Press the Exposure Control Key
(Darker) as necessary to obtain
a darker image, see page 3-10.
Youhavebeenmakingcopies
from a photo or an original with a
large dark area.
The copier needs more toner.
Press the Auxiliary Toner
Replenishing Key as manytimes
as required to obtain the desired
image density, see page 4-3.
The Toner Bottle has just been
replaced.
The copier needs more toner.
Press the Auxiliary Toner
Replenishing Key as manytimes
as required to obtain the desired
image density, see page 4-3.
The Add Toner Indicator on the
Monitor Display is lit up.
Add Toner Indicator
Replace the Toner Bottle with a
new one, see page 5-2.
The paper is damp. Replace the paper,
see page 5-4.
