Why is the image too light on my Minolta EP5000 Copier?
    • A
      Arthur MooreAug 7, 2025
The image may be too light on your Minolta Copier because the exposure level for the Auto Exposure mode is set at "Lighter." To fix this, change the setting of "Auto Exposure Level" in User’s Choice. Alternatively, if you're using Manual Exposure mode, touch [Darker] as needed. It could also be due to copying from a photo or original with a large dark area, in which case you should replenish toner using the Toner Replenisher of User Mode. If the Toner Bottle was just replaced, replenish the toner as well. If the message "Replenish Toner" is on the Touch Panel, replace the Toner Bottle. Lastly, damp paper can cause this issue, so try changing the paper.

The image may be too dark because the exposure level for the Auto Exposure mode is set to "Darker." Change the setting of "Auto Exposure Level" in User’s Choice. If you are using Manual Exposure mode, touch [Lighter] as necessary to obtain a lighter image. Also, check if the Original Glass surface is dirty and wipe it clean with a soft dry cloth. Ensure that the original is held tightly against the Original Glass.

What causes dark specks or spots on Minolta EP5000 Copier copies and how to fix it?
    • C
      Christopher MaxwellAug 25, 2025
Dark specks or spots on copies are often caused by a dirty Original Glass. Clean it with a soft, dry cloth. The Original Pad or Document Feed Belt may also be dirty; wipe them clean with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent. If the original is very thin or transparent, place a blank sheet of paper over it. If the original is 2-sided, set the copier to Manual Exposure mode and use the [Lighter] key to lighten the exposure level.

How to fix dirty edges on copies from my Minolta EP5000 Copier?
    • W
      William ZamoraAug 28, 2025
Dirty edges on copies can be caused by a dirty Original Pad or Document Feed Belt. Wipe these clean with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent. Also, ensure that you have selected the same copy paper size as the original. The issue might also be that the original is not placed in the correct position, so place it correctly. Finally, make sure the reduction ratio selected is in accord with the copy paper size and adjust the zoom ratio accordingly.

What to do if the image on the copy is not aligned properly with my Minolta Copier?
    • K
      Kyle MclaughlinSep 1, 2025
If the image on the copy is not aligned properly, ensure the original is correctly placed on the Original Glass against the Original Width Scale. If you're using the document feeder, the originals may not be suitable for it. In that case, raise the document feeder and place the originals on the Original Glass one at a time.
