To determine th e guide number for a
particular electronic flash unit and film speed
or to check the manufacturer's recommended
guide number : .
1.
With the film speed set and the measurlng-
mode selector set for "CORD" or "NON.C"
operation, move the display-mode selector
to "Exl N" and attach the optional flat
diffuser.
2. Position the meter at a known distanc e (for
exa mpl e, 3m or 10 ft .) from the flash unit
to be measured and point the diffuser
directly at the flash.
3. Push
the meter's measuring button all the
way in to trigger the flash for "CORD"
mode or, for "NON .C" mode to arm the
meter's circuit and fire the flash as by
pushing the open-flash/test button on the
flash unit . Th en read the display indication
and work it through the formula b elow :

With a display reading of 10.4 as ASA 100
and flash-to-meter distance of 3m (10ft.), work
the equation as follows:

Leitzahl zu prlifen, verfahren Sie folgen-
de rma Ben:
1.
Stellen Sie die Filmempfindlichkeit e in und
den MeBartenwahler auf "CORD" oder
"NON .C" sowie den Anzeigenartwahler auf
"Exl N", und montieren Sie den Plan-
Diffusor (zusatzlich erhaltlich).
2. Plazieren den Belichtungsmesser in einer
gewissen Entfernung (z.B. 3m) von Blitz -
gerat,
und richten Sie den Diffusor direkt
dagegen.

Drlicken S ie die MeBtaste des Flash- Meter
III ganz ein . Dadurch wird bei MeBart
"CORD" der Blitz ausgelost. Bei MeBart
"NON . C" wird der Flash-Meter III in
MeBbereitschaft ve rsetzt . Der Blitz wird mit
Hilfe des Handausloseknopfs am Blitzgerat
ausgelost. Lesen Sie die Anzeige ab und
benutzen Sie folgende Formel.
