Theturbofanisalsoequippedwithasecondaryairsystem
consistingofanairpressuremanifoldandanairpressure
tube.Thissystemfeedspressurizedairtothebaseof
eachmeteringunit.Anozzleblowsairagainsttheback
sideoftheseeddisctocleanoutanypluggedholes
blockedbylightandsharppointedseeds.Thepressure
tubeisprovidedwithalterwhosepurposeistocatchany
dustblownthroughthesystem.Thisparticletrapshould
belledwithabout1¼”of(80-90weight)oil.
NOTE:Inspectthelterdailyandserviceasneeded,
especiallyindustyconditions.
Onlyusethesecondaryairsystemforseedswhoseholes
aresmallerthan1.2mm.Itisindispensablewhenplanting
smallsizedandlightseeds(carrot,lettuce,endive…)
however;itisuselesswhenplantingwithbiggerseed
suchastablebeetsorcoatedseed.Whenplantingwith
biggerseed,itisnecessarytodisconnectorremove
thepressuremanifoldandclosetheshuttersothatthe
turbofangivesthemaximumairvacuum.
IMPORTANT :Toachieveagooddistributionwith
avacuumplanter,itisnecessarytousetop
quality,properlysized,cleanseed.
Ifyouareusingseedcontainingimpurities,thesecondary
airsystemwillnotbesufcientforcleaningtheseed
holes,thediscswillhavetobecheckedmoreoften.
