Input Trimming– Sensor Trimming increases the measurement accuracy of your instrument by
matching the reading of its actual input, to either a calibrated source or the device to which it is
connected. This veries that the input to the transmitter is being interpreted correctly.
Note: Trim points are restricted to the sensor’s conformance range (refer to Table 9.4).
You may trim any point between 0% and 100% along the scale. Note that one-point trimming
applies an offset to the sensor reading, while two-point trimming applies both an offset and a gain.
Refer to Figure 2.2 for set up and Table 2.1 for necessary equipment.
Follow the steps below in order to perform sensor trimming.
1. Select either “1 Point” (one-point trimming) or “2 Points” (two-point trimming) by clicking
the appropriate button. Each pair consists of “Set Value” and “Trim” fields.
2. Enter the values that require trimming into the “Set Value” field and click “Set”.
3. Apply the targeted signal to the input, wait until it settles, and click “Trim” to capture the
measured value. If you chose “2 Points”, repeat the step above for the second point.
Note: To reset and return to Factory Trimming values simply select the Disabled Trimming radio
button. Changes made to the Trimming section will immediately eect the unit. Set and trim
buttons are disabled when there is no unit connected.
Warning: If either of the Set Buttons are clicked, any Input Trimming in the device will be reset
and lost. Make sure that when Trimming 2 points, both values are entered and Set before any
Trimming takes place.
Start Up Delay– This allows you to set a Start up Delay of 0-120 seconds (default is 0). This
adds a delay after the STA has been initialized to allow the process input to stabilize. During
initialization and delay all outputs are held in their failsafe mode.
Note: For STA units with rmware versions 1.5 and earlier, the start up delay is not congurable
and is set to 0 secs.
Note: Once you have congured all parameters, download to the unit by selecting “Download” in
the Transfer dropdown menu located in the Status Bar. Or, click the button in the Menu Bar.
