ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
CAUTION
Safety
Loose clothing, long hair, dangling jewelry may get
entangled in moving parts and cause serious injury. Do not
get near or wear loose items near moving parts.
The mufer becomes hot during operation. Contact with the
mufer may cause burns.
Removing the radiator cap while the engine is hot can
cause the coolant to spray out, seriously scalding you.
Always let the engine cool down before removing the
radiator cap.
WARNING
Follow the manufacturers recommended procedure when using
starting aids in cold temperatures.
Use of plain water alone as a coolant will result in liner pitting and
corrosion. Always have the proper mix of coolant. Articially softened
water should not be used in the radiator.
Moisture in the fuel system has an impact on engine performance and
results in corrosion.
Function
The engine is the source of power for the machine.
The M20R chipper has many options for its engine. Consult the engine manufacturers manual for the safety, use and maintenance of your specic
engine. The engine drive belt, sheaves, air lter and mufer will vary with each model. See the Parts section for part numbers on the engines and
their components.
