ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
CHANGING STANDARD KNIFE HOLDERS CON'T
2� Remove hood bolts and open hood.
3� Remove the bolts from the Knife Holder.
4� Remove the knife and counter knife to expose holder bolts.
NOTE: Always scrape debris off surfaces prior to installation.
5� Place new holder into the pocket.
6� Replace holder bolts using Loc-Tite Blue�
7� Tighten to 590 ft/lbs (800 Nm)�
8� Rotate drum to the next set of pockets.
9� Repeat steps 2 - 7 for each pocket.
10� Once all holders and knives have been changed, rotate drum backwards to
check for anvil clearance.
11� If needed adjust anvil clearance. (See inspecting anvil clearance.)
12� Close and bolt hood before start - up.
WARNING: IF IT IS REQUIRED TO RUN YOUR MACHINE CHIP-
PER DRUM WITHOUT ALL THE KNIVES, POCKET BLANKS MUST
BE USED IN THE LOCATIONS WHERE THE KNIVES HAVE BEEN
REMOVED. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL VOID ALL DRUM WAR-
RANTY. POCKET BLACKS CAN BE PURCHASED THROUGH THE
MORBARK PARTS DEPARTMENT.
