Controller Options - Continued
Topcon - X35 Apollo
The X35 Apollo system provides two operating modes
depending on the drill conguration:
1. Lift Control and Hydraulic Pressure Control
The target Hydraulic Pressure is entered into the X35
monitor. Once the desired hydraulic pressure is set,
the Topcon control loop analyzes the signal from the
Transducer and will increase / decrease the hydraulic
pressure of the S2 solenoid to maintain the requested
Target.
VR/ICT Base System (All Topcon equipped Morris Air
Carts) - pressure control and auto headland lift/lower
functionality.
• Proportional pressure control for split second
pressure control to maintain pressure even in rapidly
changing terrain.
• Automatically lift and lower openers in the headlands.
• Float mode to remove pressure from openers for soft
or muddy conditions.
• Potential to upgrade the system to Packer Force
Control as an add on kit.
2. Packer Pressure Control
Quantum drills equipped with the Topcon Pack Control
option include a new packing arm [S67716]. The
arm consists of a special Digi-Star spindle assembly
[S67715] which is capable of measuring the downforce
being applied onto the Packing Wheel.
The target Packing Force is entered into the X35 monitor.
Once the desired Packing Force is set, the Topcon
control loop analyzes the ADC signal from the Spindle
and will increase / decrease the amount of hydraulic
pressure of the S2 solenoid to maintain the requested
Packing Force Target.
VR/ICT Packer Force Control (Option) - can control /
maintain a set amount of pressure on the packer tire of
the row unit via a load cell sensor and closed loop control
• All of the capabilities of Hydraulic Pressure Control
with the added control function of maintaining/
controlling packer force for variable eld conditions
in order to improve depth control and product
placement as well as rmness of the soil in the furrow.
Note: Operator will have to be aware of changing
soil conditions across drill as Load Cell
maybe in softer or harder soil than the rest
of the drill.
