Basic Operating Procedures
Selecting the Zone or Mode
A zone is a grouping of modes. A mode is a group of characteristics
such as transmit/receive frequencies, Private-Line™ codes, radio
parameters, and an alphanumeric name.
Selecting or Changing the Zone
Use the Menu Entry ZONE
1 Press thebutton to scroll to the ZONE softkey.
2 Press the button below ZONE.
The display shows the current zone and mode.
3 Press theor until the desired zone is displayed.
4 Press the or PTT button to save the displayed
zone as the new home (default) zone.
The zone name stops flashing once it is saved.
5 Press the PTT button to begin transmitting on the
displayed zone.
Use the Menu Entry ZNUP or ZNDN
1 Press thebutton to scroll to the ZNUP or ZNDN softkey.
2 Press and hold the button below ZNUP or ZNDN,
until the zone you want appears.
Note: Positions of the ZNUP or ZNDN softkey on the display may
differ each time you release the button .
3 Press the PTT button to begin transmitting on the
displayed zone.
