7. Unhook the cable assembly from the upper chute.
8. Mark one of the cables and its location in the cable
bracket.
See Figure 4.6.
9. Remove both of the cables.
To install the upper discharge chute:
1. Hook the cable bracket onto the upper discharge
chute.
2. Install both of the cables into the proper slots in the
cable bracket as indicated by the arrows in
Figure
4.7.
NOTE: If the cables are reversed, the chute operation will
be reversed.
3. Insert the cable guide in between the cable bracket
and the chute.
4. Attach the cables to the cable guide. See Figure 4.8.
5. Slide the upper discharge chute onto the lower chute.
NOTE: Do not apply grease to the inside surface of the
upper chute or the outside surface of the lower
chute.
6. Install the carriage bolts and nuts that hold the upper
chute to the lower chute.
NOTE: Thread the nuts on to the carriage bolts until a cou-
ple of threads stick out past the nylon locking fea-
ture. Do not over tighten the nuts.
7. Install the screw that anchors the cable guide to the
lower chute.
8. Test run the snow thrower in a safe area before
returning it to service.
