Operating the Scanner
The RealScan 7875 is a fixed position device that is installed in a checkout counter. It is not
handled or moved by the operator during operation. The RealScan 7875 is maintained and
serviced by trained service personnel only. The operator has no access to any laser module
components.
The RealScan 7875 does not have a power switch. However, you turn it on and off by using the
circuit breaker switch, located in the checkstand, that supplies power to the unit. Be sure this
switch is in the On position.
The Status Indicator on the Operator Display Panel is Red when the RealScan 7875 is ready. The
correct way to scan is to slide an item from the checkstand, across the scanner, and back onto the
checkstand. With a good scan, the Status Indicator Flashes Green, then turns Red. Nothing
happens if the bar code is not read.
