Dark cross that appears in the objective pupil

7 Loosen the condenser mount rotation clamp
screw. Hold the condenser turret and turn both the
condenser and the polarizer at the same time.
Tighten the mount rotation clamp screw to fix it at
the position where a dark cross appears in the
objective pupil.
Be careful not to accidentally loosen the mount
rotation clamp screw during microscopy.
