Installing the NV6128
To install an NV6128 router, follow the steps below:
1. Determine the placement of the NV6128 frame in the rack. The frame requires 18
RUs of vertical rack space.
2. Open the frame door and remove it by lifting the door upward off the hinges.
3. Lift the frame into position and attach it to the front of the rack with the appropriate
screws, being sure to place screws in all frame mounting screw holes.
4. At the rear of the frame, connect power cords from the AC power source to the
Power Supply connectors. See “POWER CORD WIRING” in the front of this
manual for connection details. Also see "Power Supply Safety for All Models" on
page 2-4.
5. Referring to Figure 1-4 in Section 1, install the circuit modules and ensure each
one is fully seated in the frame:
• Vertical modules with component side to the left.
• Horizontal modules with component side up.
• Power Supplies as appropriate.
6. Connect cables to the frame rear connectors as explained in the “System
Description” for your router model in Section 1.
7. Reinstall and close the frame front door.
Note: The power cords supplied with this equipment provide the only means
of AC mains disconnection. The AC source power outlet must be near the
equipment and must be easily accessible.
Caution: To prevent damage to the frame door, do not use the door handle
to lift the frame.
Warning: The ENVOY frame is too heavy for one person to lift. Use an
equipment jack or get the help of an assistant to lift the frame.
Note: Modules can be installed or removed with the power on.
