17.4.33 F99 (DC Peak Operation Error)
Troubleshooting
Diagnosis Procedures and Cause
Measures to be Taken
An error other than F99 occurred
Check for presence of gas leak.
Check the gas pressure during the rated operation.
Check if the 2- and 3-way valves are open.
Check for voltage drop on outdoor unit during operation.
(Between the outdoor unit terminals block 1 and 2)
Step:
1
Check the voltage during operation.
2
Check the voltage within 2 min after the operation
is stopped.
3
It is normal if voltage drop during operation is 10V
or below.
If the error is not solved by replacement of
the control board, it is a compressor failure.
Replace the compressor.
F99 occurred
Perform operation while the lead wires (red, blue & yellow)
connected to the compressor are removed, and then check
the error code.
There is a gas leak
Replace the part from which gas is
leaking.
Replace the outdoor unit control board.
There is no
gas leak
Replace the capillary tube or expansion
valve.
Higher than the
normal value
Replace the compressor.
Abnormal
Fix the wire connecting the indoor and
outdoor units; or fix the wiring between
the electrical outlet and circuit breaker.
No
(Improper work)
Open the 2- and 3-way valves.
(Replace the compressor.)
An abnormality
is observed
Fix the problem.
An abnormality
is observed
Inspect the fan or control board.
Lower than the normal value
Normal
Yes
Check for dirt and interrupted heat radiation on the heat
exchanger.
(Cooling: Outdoor unit side; Heating: Indoor unit side)
No abnormality is observed
For heating operation only
Is the fan rotating normally?
(Cooling: Outdoor unit side; Heating: Indoor unit side)
After the air conditioner starts operation, does the compressor
rotate for a while before it stops?
No abnormality is observed
The compressor rotates
for a while
The compressor
does not rotate
at all
Normal
