Attach the external flash to the hot shoe and then turn on the camera and the
external flash
Refer to (→163) for changing the settings for external flashes on the camera.
Refer to (→168) about the settings for the wireless flash.
When using other commercially available external flashes that don’t offer
direct communication with the camera (DC-GX9)
It is necessary to set the exposure on the external flash when it is used. When you use an external
flash in Auto Mode, use an external flash that allows you to set the aperture value and ISO
sensitivity to match the same settings on the camera.
Set the camera to Aperture-Priority AE Mode or Manual Exposure Mode and then set the same
aperture value and ISO sensitivity on the external flash. (The proper exposure cannot be achieved
because the aperture value changes in Shutter-Priority AE Mode. The light of the external flash
cannot be properly adjusted since the aperture value cannot be fixed in Programme AE Mode.)
