Using Zoom

The zoom lens of this unit allows you to change the focal length from wide-angle, which
allows you to record a majestic landscape, to telephoto zoom, which allows you to
enlarge a small distant subject. You can also increase the zoom ratio further by changing
the setting.
Use the zoom lever to adjust the range of the picture to be

• The zoom speed can be set to one of 2 levels
using the angle at which the zoom lever is moved.
The illustration is an example of when using Extended optical zoom, [i.ZOOM], and
[Digital Zoom].

• When [Zoom Resume] in the [Lens Resume] menu is set to [ON], the zoom ratio
saved in the memory the last time the camera was turned off is automatically restored
when the camera is turned on. (→67)

Do not touch the lens barrel during zooming.
●
Adjust the focus after adjusting the zoom.
●
The zoom ratio and the zoom bar displayed on the screen are estimates.
●
The camera may make a rattling noise and vibrate when the zoom lever is operated -
this is not a malfunction.
●
Zoom cannot be used in the following cases:
• [3D Photo Mode] ([Scene Mode])
• [Macro Zoom] (Only the Digital Zoom will function up to 3x.)
