may got rod eye phenomenon depending on the
recording condition.
Using the Flash (not supplied)
eWhon using the Flash, [_] Indicator appears.
eUsing the Flash outdoors Or with bauklight or
other bright conditions may result in white
blotches (color blotches) on the pictures. In this
case, either adjust the iris manually or use the
Backlight Componsagon Function.
eThe available range is approximately 3 to
13 foot (1 to 4 motors).
eThe Flash (not supplied) Lind the Built-in FILtsh
cannot be used simultaneously.
eWhon using the Finish (not supplied), the shutter
speed, the irfs and the white balance become
fixed.
• Digital Effect Functions
• If you have set [EFFECT2] to [BiWl or [SEPIAJ,
changing the selected White Balance Mode is
not possible. (-35-)
eSetting the Cinema Mode cancels the
Picture-in-Picture Mode and the Multi-Picture
Mode.
eDuring Digital Still Picture Mode, Digital Effect
Functions cannot be sot.

Multi-Picture Mode
• If tho IMULTI] Button ispressed while
sol#recording Mirror Mode (-:_t-) is used, the still
picturo is displayed from the upper right corner
of the screen, but, in rcalJty, the picture is
recorded from the upper loft comer as usual.
• The quality of Multi imagos doteriorLttes slightly.
• The top and bottom of Multi pictures will be uut
off slightly.
Picture-in-Picture Mode
• If Mode Dial is operated, the smaller picture
disappears.
oTitlos cannot bo insetted into the smaller
picture.
Wipe Mode and Mix Mode
If one of thefollowing operations iscarried out,
stored imagos will be erased, and Wipe and Mix
Funutions cannot be used.
oSct another Digital Effect item.
oOpomte the jeFF/ON] switch or Mode Dial
• Insert or eject a cassette
• Playing Back
Repeat Playback
If you continue to press the [Ib] Button for
5 seconds or longer, the Camcordor switches to
Repeat PILtybLtckMode, and the [R b'] IndJuLttor
appears. (To cancel Repeat Playback Mode, sot
the [OFFiONj Switch to [OFF].)
Listening to Playback Sound through
Headphones
If you want to use the headphones to listen to the
plLtybauk sound, set [AV JACK[ to
[OUT/PHONESI and connect the headphones to
the [PHONESI JLtck (-/3-) on the Camcordor. In
this case, no sound (including warning and
shutter sounds) will be omitted through the built-in
speaker of the Camcordor.
Choosing Sound during Playback
You can selcot the sound setting by using the
[AUDIO OUT] setting on the [PLAYBACK]
Sub-Menu.
STEREO: Stereo Sound (mLdn sound Lind sub
sound)
L: Loft channel sound (main sound)
R: Right channel sound (sub sound)
• If you dub a tape recorded at [12bit] selected as
the [AUDIO REC] on the [RECORDINGI
Sub-Menu, playback sound becomes stereo
sound regardless of the LAUDIO OUT] setting if
[12bit AUDIOI is sot to [MIX].
• Index Search Functions
• Index Search may not be possible at the
beginning of the tape.
• Scone Index Search may notfunution properly if
the interval bolwcon 2 scone index signals is
less than 1 minute.
• Playback Zoom Function
oYou cannot adjuct the sound volume with the
Remote Controller inPlayback Zoom Mode.
• If you turn off the Camcorder power or if you
operate the Mode Dial, PILtybLtckZoom ModO is
automLttically cancelled.
oEven if PlaybLtck Zoom Functions are being
used, imagos that are. output from the DV
Terminal (-,4-) are not enlarged.
