wBecasso the color and brfghtness of the
playback image may change, avoid recording
under fluorescent light, moreury light or
sodium light.
If you record a subject illuminated with strong
light or a highly reflective subject, vorlical
lines of light may appear.
If the light is insufficient, the [ _Z_i Indicator
finishes.
Spor'_s ModeJPorfrait Mode
If you record a still picture in Progressive
Photoshot Mode, the brightness and hue of
the recorded still picture may become
unstable.
If this mode is used for indoor recording,
playback images may flicker.
Low Light Mode
Extremely dark scenes may not be able to be
made brighter to a satisf;._ctcrydegree,
Spotlight Mode
wWith this mode, recorded imagos may
become extremely dark.
If the subject is extremely bright, its recorded
imago may bosomes whitish.
Surf & Snow Mode
If the subjoct is oxtremely bright, its rocorded
imago may turn out to bo whitish,
White Balance
In the following cases, you cannot change
White Balance:
eWhen you sot [EFFECT21 to [SEPIAJ or to
[BiWj.
When you set the Zoom to 10X or higher
eDuring Digital Still Picture Mode
When you display a Menu
When you use the MagicPix Mode
In the following cases, the [_E_] Indicator
flashes:
The flashing indicates that the previously
adjusted White Balance, setting is still active.
This setting will be kept until White B;.dance is
adjusted again.
You may not be able to ;.tchieve correct White
Balance Adjustment manually under weak
illumination.
Manual Shutter Speed Adjustment
You may see vertical lines of light in the
playback image of a brightly shining subject or
highly reflective subject.
During normal playback, movement in the
images may not lock smooth.
Because the color and brightness of the
playback image may become unstable, avoid
recording under fluorescent light, mercury light
or sodium light.
#you are using M;.tgicPixMode (-34-) or
Pregr,tm AE Mode (_5-), you cannot adjust the
shutter speed.
Card Slow Shutter Mode (PV-GS200 only)
The subject may not be focused in dark scenes
with loss luminance or scenes with loss
sontr_st.
Buttons cannot be activated except the
[OFF!ON l Switch, the Mode Dial and the
[AUTO/MANUAL!FOCUS] Switch while the
Camoorder is focusing on the sub]oct.
When you take a picture of people at night, you
can achieve adequate brfghtness for both
people and the background in the pictureby
using the flash in the Card Slow Shutter Mode.
Manual Iris Adjustment
Depending on zoom magnification, there are iris
values that will not be displayed.
#you are using M;._gicFix Mode (-34-) or
Program AE Mode (_5-), you cannot adjust the
ids.
If you attempt to adjust the Shutter Speed aflor
setting the Ids, the value set for the Ids will be
canceled.
usingThe Built-in Flash
(PV*GS200 only)
The available r;.tngo of the FI;_sh is
approximately3 to7.5foot(Ito2.5 motors)ina
dark place.. Pictures will appear dark when they
are resordod using the Flash at distances
greater than 7.5 feet (2.5 meters).
Object of recording may appear dark if Flash is
lighted in front of white background.
Using the Flash fixes the shutter speed of 1/750
s or faster to 1/500.
In the following cases, using the FI;_tshis not
possible:

wMulti-Picture Mode-4_
wRapidFiro Consecutive Photoshot Function
wMaglcPix Function -._4-
wMPEG4 Hocording -,_e-
The picture may bosom• out of focus in a dark
place. In this case, adjust the focus manually.
Told Conversion Lens (not supplied) or Wide
Conversion Lens (not supplied) can block flash
light and may cause vignotting effect.
The Camccrder, even when its Flash has been
turned off, automatically determines whether
the flash light is necessary or not by detecting
the ambient brfghtnoss. (If it determines that the
flash light is necessary, the ['_j, ['_+i or [_-j
Indicator flashes in yellow.)
