FEATURES OF THE
smc
PENTAX·DA LENS
The smc PENTAX-DA
lens
is an interchangeable
lens specifically
designed for digital
cameras. Its
image circle is specialized for image sensors in PENTAX digital SLR
cameras and its optical system is optimized for the characteristics of digital images.
When autofocusing is finished, it is possible to make fine adjustments by hand using the
"Quick-Shift Focus System"
(see page 19 for details).
Lenses that have
"SDM"
in
their name are equipped with a supersonic motor. When
mounted
on
a camera that supports supersonic motors, the autofocus is quiet and
smooth.
The DA
*
55mm f/1.4 SDM uses a circular aperture. Using it when stopping down from
full aperture to about f/2.8 keeps
light
sources and other fuzzy points perfectly round.
