8.5 External check sample
As part of factory maintenance procedures can an external check sample be measured and
continuously evaluated on the DA 7440 Instrument. Perten Check sample includes a plastic
Polystyrene (PS), Poly(1-phenylethylene) puck with a defined reflectance spectra signature. The
check sample can be continuously measured as a complement to the instrument internal testing
and Instrument – Laboratory measurements comparisons.
As a guideline - stability should be below 1% deviation. Contact your Perten instruments office
or local partner if the deviation exceeds 1%.
1. Remove the air purge by rotating it clockwise.
2. Attach the External check sample.
3. Select tools and settings – External Reference check in Process Plus interface.
4. Select Measure external reference. If to activate the function the first time, see point 7 below.
5. The measurement is compared to stored reference and the comparison with the current
scanned spectra to the reference spectra is expressed as Difference %.
