5 OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES/COMPONENTS
The functions of the PBR FMT150 may be enhanced by wide range of optional components. Installation and operation of
the optional accessories that can be provided together with the PBR FMT150 device are described in next chapters.
5.1 PBR SOFTWARE
The Photobioreactor can be connected with an external PC that runs PBR software (Fig. 20). The PBR software can define,
control, visualize and analyze experimental data and settings (overriding the photobioreactor controller) like
• duration of the experiment
• set up of user-defined protocols
• sensors data recording in real time
• regulation of temperature dynamics, LED irradiance, stirring, pumps, gas mixer, …
• data export in various formats (Excel, CSV, XML)
• data visualization in graphs
• remote control via internet
The PBR software is necessary for recording of measured parameters from both the photobioreactor and the auxiliary
sensors. If the PBR computer is connected to the internet, the data display, as well as regulation of the growth conditions
can be managed remotely from anywhere.
The software operates on Linux operating system and allows. USB cable for PC and PBR FMT150 communication is supplied
with the system (Please note that in older versions of FMT150 serial cable with USB adapter is included instead).

5.2 AIR PUMP WITH BUBBLE INTERRUPTION VALVE
Air pump for culture bubble stirring and supply of air levels of CO
2
. Valve interrupts bubbling during measurements, it is
required for precise readings of OD, Ft and QY. Bubble interruption valve can be purchased also without air pump if
required. The component is shown on Fig. 6 on page 16 under number 8.
