3 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
3.1 System Description
The S3 is a surgical device designed with compactness, portability, reliability and
user-friendliness. The S3 provides the operator with a versatile tool for surgical uses
on oral soft tissue. The S3 utilizes a semiconductor diode with invisible infrared
radiation as a laser source and visible red light as indicator light. The laser power is
delivered to the area of interest via a flexible quartz fiber, which has a hand piece.
The emission of the laser is activated by a hand piece finger switch or foot switch.
