Reattach the protective cap to the optical system immediately after
removing the tip and prior to cleaning procedures.
Before disinfection, the hand piece must be cleaned and disassembled.
Disinfection for Hand piece
The recommended autoclave cycle for the Hand piece is:
Temperature: (132°C)
Pressure: 27 PSI
Time cycle: 15 minutes
The hand piece optics require regular cleaning.
Turn off the power to the unit.
Do not inspect or clean the hand piece optics when the laser power is on
Do not autoclave the fiber optic cable. Always disinfect the fiber optic
cable between patient treatments.
Disconnect the optical fiber protection cap from the hand piece optic.
Using a fiber free swab moistened with an 75% alcohol disinfectant, gently insert and
rotate the swab to clean the optic.
Using a second dry fiber free swab, gently insert and rotate to dry the optic.
The fiber stripper should only be used on a disinfected fiber. In case of
contamination, it should be sprayed with the solution, cleaned with a suitable brush,
rinsed with water and dried. The fiber stripper is not autoclavable.
SOLUTION:
Use only disinfectants that comply with the requirements of your national
authorities and whose bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal properties
have been tested and properly certified.
