10. Turn transmission so shafts are pointing down.
Slide the Low gear in and out until needle bearing
slides out of gear and can be removed. Remove
needlebearing, low gear,andinner thrust washer.
11. Inspect shift dogs for excessive rounding on the
leading edges. Replace if worn.
12. Remove low range shift fork and dog. Replace
along with mating gear if wear is evident.
13. Inspect face of shift fork for excessive wear,
discoloration, or bending.
14. Remove center shaft assembly by tapping on
opposite side with a soft face hammer.
15. Remove the remaining gears and shafts as an
assembly. Rotate the shift bellcrank with a 1/2
