BRAKE PAD / DISC INSPECTION
1. Check the brake pads for wear, damage, or
looseness.
2. Inspect the brake pad surface for excessive wear.
Pads should be changed when the friction material is
worn below the service limit.
MEASUREMENT
Brake Pad Thickness:
Service Limit: .180” (4.6 mm)
3. Check surface condition of the brake discs.
4. Measure the thickness of the front and rear brake
discs.
5. The disc(s) should be replaced if thickness is below
the service limit.
MEASUREMENT
Brake Disc Thickness
New: .187” (4.75 mm)
Service Limit: .167” (4.24 mm)
MEASUREMENT
Brake Disc Thickness Variance
Service Limit: .002” (.051 mm)
(Difference between measurements)
HOSE / FITTING INSPECTION
Check brake system hoses and fittings for cracks,
deterioration, abrasion, and leaks. Tighten any loose
fittings and replace any worn or damaged parts.
